Residents of the Arkhangelsk region are complaining about the lack of a measles vaccine.

The one-year-old daughter of a NeMoskva reader was left without a measles vaccination. SergeiThe Arkhangelsk resident himself told our correspondent about this.

"We're currently undergoing various vaccinations. Our child was supposed to receive a measles shot on May 16th. We go to our doctor, and she tells us that the measles shots are over, and there's no vaccine at all." — he recalls Sergei. - I think that if there is no vaccine for small children, then things are obviously really bad in this area.”

At the Arkhangelsk City Children's Clinical Polyclinic Sergei They said that, according to the most optimistic estimates, a vaccine won't be available until August. But even that's not certain. Moreover, there have been no problems with other mandatory vaccines.

NeMoscow contacted the Ministry of Health Arkhangelsk areaThe hotline confirmed to us that the region is running low on vaccine. However, a request for delivery has already been sent to the Russian Ministry of Health, and the vaccine is expected by the end of 2023. The hotline couldn't even give us an estimate. It depends on the Russian Ministry of Health's decision.

"Residents of the Arkhangelsk region who are traveling outside the region or whose employers require measles vaccination are now eligible to receive the vaccine. A local physician will refer the patient, assessing each case individually." — the Arkhangelsk Ministry of Health clarified to NeMoskva.

As a reminder, thousands of measles cases have been recorded in Russia in recent months—many times higher than usual. In April, Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) reported a worsening measles situation in 44 regions, republics, and territories of the country. At that time, there were no cases of measles in the Arkhangelsk Region.

Former Deputy Chairman of the Doctors' Alliance Sergei Fishermen I'm sure that Russia is now covered Measles epidemic. In the regions, hospital departments are being quarantined, university students are being transferred to remote learning, and dormitories are being closed.
