Last June Kirill Shvetsov met Artem Skakalin, who in an online correspondence informed him of his desire to fight for Ukraine and join the Freedom of Russia* legion.
In July Skakalina detained FSB officers near the Russian-Ukrainian border in Bryansk region, and then sentenced to seven years in a maximum security penal colony for attempted participation in an armed group on the territory of a foreign state.
How to сообщает The Telegram channel "Tverdy Znak Tambov" also found Kirill Shvetsov guilty. The court fined him 30 rubles under Article 205.6 of the Criminal Code: failure to report a planned crime to authorities.
A video also appeared online showing Shvetsov repenting for his actions.
“I didn’t attach much importance to this, I treated the situation lightly, and I completely regret what I did,” he says.
