Russians who violate martial law may be detained for 30 days.

On June 14, State Duma deputies may consider new amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, noticed "Vedomosti".

An article on "Violation of Martial Law" will be added to the Code, which will punish individuals with a fine of 500 to 1000 rubles or administrative arrest for up to 30 days. For officials, fines of 1000 to 2000 rubles or arrest for the same period are planned.

The author of the initiative is a member of the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation Dmitriy VyatkinHe explained to Vedomosti journalists that the amendments will apply in regions where martial law has been declared.

"Martial law hasn't been declared in our country for a very long time, 80 years, so it's absolutely essential to back these regulations with penalties. No penalties were applied under this law, and there were no specific provisions. Given the current realities, appropriate sanctions must be introduced." - said Vyatkin.
