The prosecution has requested a 19-year sentence in a maximum-security prison colony for Dagestani journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev. He is accused of financing terrorism.

The prosecutor's office requested 19 years in a maximum-security penal colony for three defendants in the "Abdulmumin Gadzhiev case." пишет Gadzhiev himself on his channel. 

Editor of the religion section of the newspaper "Chernovik" Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, Entrepreneurs Kemal Tambiev and lawyer Abubakar Rizvanov accused of activities of extremist and terrorist organizations, as well as financing terrorism.

The prosecution believes that the court was able to fully prove their involvement in the activities and financing of terrorist organizations—ISIS, the Congress of the Peoples of Ichkeria and Dagestan, and the Supreme Military Majlis-ul-Shura of the United Forces of the Mujahideen of the Caucasus.

Abdulmumin Gadzhiev was arrested on June 14, 2019. Colleagues consider this criminal case political persecution and regularly hold pickets in his support near the Ministry of Internal Affairs and FSB buildings. One such picket told  "NonMoscow speaking." 

The Memorial Human Rights Center has recognized Abdulmumin Gadzhiev as a political prisoner.
