Officials found no violations in the landfill project near Lipetsk, which local residents are protesting. However, the prosecutor's office found evidence of forgery.

Activists from village of Stebaevo, which are two years old are struggling They were against the construction of a landfill near their homes and were outraged by the positive conclusion of the state environmental review of the developer's project.
According to them, officials extended the permit for solid waste composting, which expired a month ago. underlinethat this method of waste processing was proposed in 2018 year and was considered experimental.
“This technology contains differences from the one that has been used in agriculture for centuries, therefore it falls into the category of new, — say the activists. — During the allotted five years, it was assumed that it would be tested somewhere, and its environmental impact would be measured. And now, with this data in hand, the technology would receive the final approval of the state environmental review."
Activists believe that the officials' decision revealed how the government truly views public safety.
Meanwhile, the day before, the environmental prosecutor's office confirmed Residents' theory about possible falsification of the design documentation for the landfill's construction. According to the documents, drilling for exploration was allegedly carried out at the construction site last fall. However, the prosecutor's office found no evidence of drilling and forwarded the investigation materials to the police.
"Perhaps the beneficiaries of the landfill's construction are trying to resolve issues in high places, so officials are easily approving projects that will not only take away a beautiful corner of nature, but also people's health." - commented NotMoscow deputy of the State Duma Georgy Kamnev. I am confident that this problem must be addressed jointly with federal authorities. I urge the Lipetsk region's leadership to cooperate. The authorities must find areas for landfill construction in industrial zones that have already been contaminated by man-made pollution.
