The attempted military mutiny was commented on by the Sverdlovsk governor, whom Prigozhin threatened with execution for refusing to bury the fallen mercenaries with honors.

Governor Evgenia Kuyvasheva cited Telegram channel "Off the Record," associated with the administration Sverdlovsk region.

"Many months ago, I said that Prigozhin was a major problem that would have to be addressed sooner or later. The army must be a state-owned one. Only then will it be able to protect the people, rather than try to subjugate them."

Kuyvashev calls for drawing conclusions from the situation and considering the safety of citizens.

Let us recall that the conflict between Kuyvashev and Prigozhin broke out Earlier this year, when the head of the Wagner PMC accused the Sverdlovsk regional administration of "blatantly screwing things up" and failing to support the war by refusing to bury mercenaries with honors, Kuyvashev responded by advising him to "cook cutlets" and "make pasta" instead of sticking his nose into regional government affairs.

"Stalin simply shot people like you and Beglov. I think we'll be back to that soon." - Prigozhin stated in response to this.

In addition, he demanded from the mayor to dismiss Director of the City History Museum Igor Pushkarev, who spoke out against the war, and in May устроил unauthorized motor rally in honor of the Wagner PMC.
