The regional court sided with residents of the Borsky District in their fight against the "Eye of Sauron," as the greenhouse complex opened there is popularly known.

Local residents had previously demanded an investigation into violations committed during the construction and operation of the Zivert greenhouse facility. The Borsky City Court refused to open a criminal case, but the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court subsequently did so. реthe decision was cancelled, reports the publication "By the way".
The greenhouse complex was built just a few dozen meters from residential buildings in the village of Ivonkino, where residents have complained about the operation from the very beginning. Powerful lighting, powered by gas generators, is used around the clock to grow greenhouse cucumbers. Nights pass in the bright light, noise, and vibration from the generators.

After conducting their own investigation, local residents discovered that, according to the documents, backlight brightness and noise measurements were "conducted" in 2013, although construction of the plant only began six years later. As a result, no sanitary protection zone has been established around the plant.
According to a resident of Ivonkino Svetlana Malkova, who filed a lawsuit over police inaction, security guards refused to allow village residents into the city court. The judge refused to allow video recording and consulted with representatives of Zivert on how best to handle the case.
"We're happy with the regional court; we burst into tears in the courtroom because we were finally heard, and at least something was done in our favor." — another village resident commented Tatyana Galunina.

Residents near the Eye of Sauron say the regional court's decision gives them hope of relief from their round-the-clock torment.
