The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case following the bombing of a railway line in the Ryazan region.

A business instituted under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Terrorist attack) and Part 3 of Article 222.1 (Illegal acquisition and storage of explosive devices).

According to the Investigative Committee, the derailment of 19 freight cars was caused by the explosion of an improvised explosive device.
