Police found no violations in Margarita Simonyan's remarks about a "nuclear explosion over Siberia."

Department's response опубликовал Deputy Evgeny Stupin.

In October of this year, the editor-in-chief of the RT television channel proposed on air (https://t.me/Govorit_NeMoskva/16309) that Western countries respond to the strengthening of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' armament with a nuclear strike on Siberia.

"If a thermonuclear explosion were to occur hundreds of kilometers away, on our own territory, somewhere over Siberia, for example... A nuclear explosion. Then nothing would happen on Earth. Nothing so terrible. Neither the nuclear winter that everyone fears, nor the monstrous radiation that would kill everyone around, and those who weren't killed would die within 10 years of cancer—none of that would happen."

— the propagandist said then.

Later she saidthat her words about the possibility of detonating a thermonuclear bomb “somewhere over Siberia” are “fake” and “complete nonsense.”
