The Communists defeated Wrangel
A monument to one of the main leaders of the White Guard movement during the Civil War was dismantled in Rostov-on-Don.
Monument didn't stand still in Rostov and a month. The bust of Baron Wrangel was criticized by local communists, and at a series of pickets they reminded to the townspeople about the "white terror", as well as executions and shootings in the southern regions of the country, in which Wrangel participated.
State Duma deputies also joined local members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation faction Gennady Zyuganov call the installation of the bust of Wrangel as a “pimple on the body of the Russian state,” and his Rostov colleagues as “the result of the sabotage activities of an anti-Russian gang.”
The location of the bust is still unknown; the leadership of the cadet corps of the Don Technical University, on whose campus the bust was installed, declined to comment.
As a reminder, the monument to Wrangel was erected in Rostov on November 7, the day of the October Revolution, using the funds of the Russian Educational Society named after Alexander III.
