"There won't be any 'candy.'" Yaroslavl authorities decided to turn the village of Zakobyakino into a "candy" and bring tourists there. Not everyone believed it.

The authorities of the Yaroslavl region have begun the registration of historical buildings in the village of Zakobyakino in the Lyubimsky District, in order to transfer them to entrepreneurs for restoration and further use. Officials believe that the village мcan be converted to the tourist mecca.

Deputy Prime Minister Denis Khokhryakov reported on his page:

"A vanishing history that we mustn't lose. Here, shopping arcades and an entire street of merchant houses remain, along with a unique fire tower forged by blacksmiths and a fire station..."

The village of Zakobyakino was first mentioned in historical documents in 1629. At the beginning of the 20th century, it stood on a busy road and was considered a prosperous, commercial and industrial village. There was a sewing workshop, a bakery, a cheese factory, and a hospital. Almost an intact street of wooden houses on brick foundations remains to this day.

Khokhryakov stated that the governor Mikhail Evraev He gave the order to "create a new tourist spot on the map of the region," so that Zakobyakino would become, if not a "second Vyatka" (included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Russia), then a unique village of artisans that would be able to convey the spirit of the merchant era.

Not everyone believed that the plans would be implemented: "To make it even remotely attractive, we'd have to pump in an incredible amount of money, attract private investors. And then wait, wait, wait..." "There won't be any silver lining; they'll steal everything.".

The reaction is not surprising. For example, in Ryazan days earlier demolished Postnikov's house on Sadovaya StreetThe cultural heritage site has been preserved, meaning it could have been restored rather than demolished. Heritage conservationists filed a complaint with the Investigative Committee.
