Five long-distance trains and an electric train were stuck in the cold for several hours in Chelyabinsk RegionThe delay was caused by technical reasons, the South Ural Railway reported on its Telegram channel.

The train passengers were the most unlucky Adler Nizhnevartovsk — it's 11 hours late. Also stuck in the traffic jam were trains running from Ufa to Novy Urengoy, Novy Urengoy to Ufa, Orenburg to Yekaterinburg, and Chelyabinsk to St. Petersburg. The Chelyabinsk to Kamensk-Uralsky commuter train was delayed for almost nine hours.

Passengers complained that they had run out of food, and the conductors' supplies were also running low.

Service has now resumed. Stops will be reduced to make up for lost time. Passengers have been promised bonus points.

According to Baza, the delay was caused by a broken wheel set on the locomotive of train No. 346 Adler-Nizhnevartovsk. This is not the first malfunction on the route.
