"Children's mouths are covered with a scarf "We're tying it up": a "black sky" regime has been introduced in Kemerovo
The city is thick with smog and there is no air to breathe, according to readers of NeMoskva. KemerovoThe "black sky" regime will remain in effect in Kemerovo until Monday evening. It will likely be extended again.
"We tie the children's mouths with scarves. The taste of chainsaw is in the air," writes our reader. "I took my son and his friend to a sports club. And they asked me, 'Why does it smell so bad outside?' The boys are four years old."
Due to a dense smoke screen and lack of visibility, Kemerovo Airport is closed: it is not receiving or sending flights.
"Black sky" regulations are introduced in cities and regions when the atmospheric dispersion of harmful pollutants is impaired. On such days, factories are required to reduce emissions, and local residents are asked to avoid using personal vehicles whenever possible.
