A Russian monitor manufacturer has filed a lawsuit against a blogger who found a "useless" but Russian chip in his monitors.

In the fall of 2023, Gorshenin опубликовал On YouTube, there is a video review of a monitor manufactured by the company "Lightcom", in which it is shown that its "heart" is the control microcircuit (controller) K1986BE92QI, developed Russian company Milandr — is not used in any way in the monitor's operation. According to the blogger, the mentioned chip installed only for that purposeso that the monitor would be considered "Russian enough" and included in the register of domestic electronics, and so that Lightcom itself would have access to government procurement.
Gorshenin clearly showed, that if you replace the Russian chip with a piece of conductive wire, the monitor will continue to work, because the main microcontroller in it is a Taiwanese chip from Realtek, hidden by the assemblers behind a radiator.
After the video was published, Lightcom denied all accusations and recently filed a lawsuit against Gorshenin.
