"If I don't withdraw my complaints, they'll bury me in the forest." A Derbent resident whose apartment was "walled up" by a United Russia deputy left the city after receiving threats.

A few years ago Aida Milaidi refused to sell her one-room apartment to a city council member To Rovshan Omarov, who wanted to build a shopping center on the site of a four-apartment building. He ended up demolishing everything he could buy from other residents and building on all four sides of the woman's property.

To allow Aida access to her home, she was left with a narrow passageway just 62 cm wide. The apartment itself, located next to a large-scale construction site, had fallen into disrepair: the walls were leaning, and the ceiling was collapsing.

Not only Milaidi, but also the Derbent administration sued the United Russia deputy: all courts ruled in his favor. This story was reported in February. рассказал Federal television channel RenTV.

In an interview with journalists, Aida stated that she had received threats from the deputy and his assistants.

«They threatened that if I didn’t give up my claims and my complaints, they would bury me in the forest, break my legs, and no one would find me."," she clarified.

The deputy claims that the woman is slandering him.
RenTV also clarified that a criminal case has been opened against Omarov under the articles "Fraud" and "Arbitrariness." His membership in United Russia has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. The victim is under state protection.

She still has no plans to sell her apartment and believes that the deputy violated her constitutional right to housing.

However, a month after the story aired on a federal channel, Milaidi still hasn't received any information about the progress of the criminal investigation or the results of the inquiry. reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

«No one contacted me, — the publication quotes her. — A criminal case has been opened, but there's been no progress. Even a preventive measure hasn't been taken for such a serious offense."

Aida also added that she left Derbent because it became dangerous to stay in her hometown.
