"Paving over the greenhouses." Orel residents protested against the development of the Zelenstroy site. The developer responded.

Zelenstroy is a city greening company with a nearly 100-year history. It is located in a water protection zone adjacent to the Orlik River. A year ago, its independent status was stripped and it was merged with a specialized vehicle depot. In March, a Voronezh developer purchased three unfinished buildings adjacent to Zelenstroy to build a new residential complex.
According to residents, the developer's representatives also offered to buy private homes. They fear that the high-rise buildings will take over the entire site on the bend of the Orlik River. They have written a petition demanding that the Zelenstroy site be left untouched.
"Take down the numerous greenhouses with their beautiful flowers, pave them over, and build high-rise buildings here—in a water protection zone, in the oldest center of the private sector! This is how Oryol officials usually solve all the problems with unprofitable businesses instead of developing them." applicationsucker author of the petition Elena Knyagina.

The petition notes that "Zelenstroy" is still a wonderful place in the city, delighting residents every year by decorating the streets with flowers and other plants. The petition has received the support of approximately 400 residents.
"It's important to note that Razvitie Group has no plans to construct any other facilities on the Zelenstroy site. The residential complex consists of three buildings." responded In response to the residents' indignation, a representative of the developer Victoria Anokhina.
The news about the promise to maintain the status quo was met with caution by internet users. sexykali, suggesting: "Put your promise down on paper."
