This rare volume can be acquired not only for reading but also for a collection. This study of the work of the Italian director, writer, and poet Pier Paolo Pasolini, written by Roberto Carnero, a researcher at the University of Bologna, explores themes essential to understanding Pasolini, but this is not what sets the book apart from other works of this genre. Published in translation with exaggerated cuts (previously, this would have been called stripping the reception), omitting several episodes from the subject's personal life, it became an example of a kind of Italian strike amid restrictions on publishing in Russia, a statement against censorship, and, alas, a monument to the era.
