"What the fuck is this Orwell?" Security forces raided the home of the director of an equestrian resort in the Ryazan hinterland, searching for banned literature.

The founder of the equestrian tourism complex "Riding along Meshchera" in the village of Orekhovo Evgeniya Pogonina оbecame During the March elections, they impounded the old car. They never returned it, but they came "to inspect the home." Pogonin shared the details with NeMoskva.

Five security officers and two witnesses raided Pogonin's home the day before, May 10th. They informed him that they had a warrant to search the property. When the owner asked if he could refuse, they denied it.

— They showed me a warrant stating: I am suspected of possible involvement in mass riots. Where? In my stable? In сautumn forest? And then it got worse. They asked if I had any literature at home. I said yes. "Is there any banned literature?" they asked me. I laughed: who the hell is this Orwell? I replied that I didn't know what kind of literature is banned these days. They actually started looking through the books, leafing through them. And they said, "Let's keep calm, let's not fight." — the interlocutor said.

When Pogonin asked why, two months later, the car had still not been returned to him, law enforcement officials said he had to take it to Ryazan himself for inspection because they didn't have a tow truck. They allegedly suspected the villager of being involved in a serious accident and concealing it.
According to Pogonin, he doesn’t understand what’s happening:

"Maybe it's an act of intimidation? But who's doing it? Yes, I sometimes write about potholed or uncleaned roads, and I have posts on sensitive topics. Is that enough to warrant confiscating a car and searching a house?"

Another source told NeMoskva that security forces visited another resident of the Spassky District. They asked her why her schoolchildren weren't attending patriotic education classes. This woman had the misfortune of showing up at the polling station at 12:00 PM during the presidential election.
