A hurricane in Krasnodar ripped the roof off a school. Twelve children attending their graduation ceremony were injured.

The incident took place at school No. 29.

Several people refused assistance, five were hospitalized in the regional children's hospital, the rest - in the emergency hospital, wrote The mayor posted on his Telegram channel Krasnodar Evgeny Naumov.

According to the schoolchildren, with the roof there were problems And before: for example, one office was flooded after the rains. And two months ago, the floor collapsed on the fourth floor.

"There are cracks in the walls, the school is in poor condition. I've pointed this out to the school administration several times, but they didn't care."- wrote local resident Victoria Ivanova in the VKontakte group "Typical Krasnodar".

According to 93.ru, School No. 29 was built in 1954, and its roof hasn't been repaired in recent years. In 2019, the surrounding area was renovated at a cost of 2,4 million rubles, and in 2020, 5,6 million rubles were spent on major repairs to the façade.

On May 24, a storm warning was issued in Krasnodar due to hurricane-force winds, with gusts reaching 30 m/s. Trees fell across the city, and on Krasnaya Street the roof was torn off from the building of the Central Hotel.
