In Kazan, students are being kicked out of dormitories due to the BRICS summit.

Students Kazan Federal University (KFU) complain that they are being kicked out of dormitories Villages Universiade During the BRICS summit, the Universiade Village is home to nine thousand people, and everyone will have to find housing for the summer and the first two months of school. Students consider this illegal and have created a petition against the eviction. 

"Not every student can afford to rent housing in the city, and some have no way to return home. It's unfair to suddenly evict students when many have already found jobs here and established their lives in Kazan.", - says in petitions students.   

The petition's authors believe their eviction is illegal for a number of reasons. For example, a student can only be evicted in three circumstances: at their own request, due to expulsion, or if the student violated the residence rules, and even then, only by court order. 

The petition also states that the eviction is being carried out very roughly, with no official order from KFU management yet, and students are already being sent packing, as if to say, "You came here to study, not to work and live."

The students themselves note that they are not against the BRICS summit, but they believe that the authorities should rent hotels or hostels for the delegations rather than expel the students.
