Little People from the Gulag. A Perm sculptor created a composition from the remains of another art object—a demolished letter "P"
Oleg Filimonov made an art object - little people from metal staples that held together the logs of the Perm Gate, but "held their own."
"I debated for a long time whether to buy it or not. Modern staples, what's so special about them? But they still appealed to me. That means they've managed to imbue me with a certain energy, a certain strength. The theme is the same, everything is on the surface, no need to dig deep."- рассказал Filimonov. He called the work "We are from the Gulag!"
The author dedicated a poem to the art object:
"The earth rests on our bones
Once killed, buried,
But their spirit was never broken.
There are many of us in the highest heavens…”
The first batch of figurines has already been purchased by a Moscow gallery. Natalia Grabar. Oleg Filimonov makes works from “iron with history” – as a rule, he collects material from the sites of demolished historical buildings, notes Channel "Perm 36,6".
