Residents of a Buryat village are deprived of medical care: no one wants to work at the dilapidated first aid station, and a new one is promised only in four years.

On video, published by The Buryat branch of the All-Russia People's Front (ONF)—a wooden house with a roof propped up by a pole, a fallen fence. This is the first-aid post (FAP) in the village of Staraya Bryan'. 

"Everything leaks: if it rains, there are basins and buckets in every corner... There's no pharmacy—we can't buy pills or bandages. Doctors rarely visit us—for example, from April to June, they've only been here twice," says a local resident. 

Another woman explains that to buy medicine, you have to go to the neighboring village of Novaya Bryan'. The bus only runs three times a week, and even then, it's not always available: sometimes it's broken, sometimes the road is impassable.

The feldsher-midwife station was declared completely obsolete five years ago. In the fall of 2022, unable to cope with the intolerable working conditions, the feldsher resigned, leaving nearly 500 residents, including about 90 children, without medical care.

The Buryatia Ministry of Health reported that it is "working to resolve the issue of constructing a new first aid post" in Staraya Bryansk. The estimated completion date for the modular first aid post is 2028.
