From now on, Interdom will only offer short-term educational programs for foreign children. Last September, the school already didn't recruit students in grades 1 and 10, and about the termination of education for children from Ivanovo started talking back in 2019. The reason was the lack of funds to finance the training of local residents.

This scandal is far from the first in Interdom's 91-year history. Initially, it was an international orphanage housing children whose communist parents were imprisoned. The children of Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito, Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong, Italian Communist Party General Secretary Palmiro Togliatti, and others also grew up there. After the collapse of the USSR, it remained the largest orphanage in Russia.

In the early 2000s, an orphanage decided to disband and create a Suvorov Military School on its premises. It was successfully defended, but the authorities returned to the issue in 2010. The students went on a hunger strike. In 2016, Interdom ceased to be just a boarding school for orphans and became an educational center. In 2017, found Numerous violations and shortages were reported. However, Interdom had an experienced teaching staff, and wealthy, well-connected parents preferred to send their children there. The school was considered elite.
