A robber from Krasnodar Krai who murdered an elderly couple will be sent to the SVO.
In 2021 year Alexander Steshuk A robber killed two pensioners. He broke into their yard looking for scrap metal, but the homeowner spotted him. The robber stabbed the elderly man 16 times and his wife nine times. He then stole 140 rubles and burned the house, along with the bodies.
Steshuk was tried on several charges: "large-scale theft of property," "robbery organized by a group with the intent to steal property," "murder of two or more persons and concealment of the crime," and "intentional destruction or damage to property." The day before, based on the jury's verdict, the court sentenced Alexander to 18 years in a maximum-security penal colony, followed by one year of restricted freedom.
Now Steshuk has been declared fit for military service and accepted for contract service. The court has already reviewed the petition, and the killer will be handed over to an authorized military official.
Previously, Vladimir Putin signed two laws exempting defendants who signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense during mobilization or wartime from criminal liability.
The amendments suggest that the court may suspend criminal proceedings if a sentence has been passed but has not yet entered into force.
