In Novosibirsk, security forces attempted to disrupt an evening of letters to political prisoners.

The organizers of the protest received warnings about violating the law on assemblies and rallies. However, the meeting went ahead anyway, with about ten people attending.

A New Year's Eve letter party was held at the Praktik coworking space. Participants and organizers were met by police officers near the venue. The officers insisted that warnings and their presence were necessary because the organizers "were allegedly coming under police surveillance."

A report of the incident was received by @nemoskva_bot. Our reader reported that this was the second evening of letters to political prisoners that security forces attempted to disrupt. At least four such meetings have been held in the city. The organizers are not willing to publicly reveal their identities for security reasons.
