The first deputy chairman of the Trans-Baikal Territory government, who went to war for four months, is resigning.

Marat Mirkhaidarov, who also served as head of the regional governor's administration, announced that he was leaving. "Mirkhaidarov gathered all the heads of the administration's departments this morning and said that he needed rehabilitation for about 2-3 months."- reported Zab.ru publication, citing a source. 

Mirkhaidarov later confirmed the news to reporters and explained that the long rehabilitation was necessary due to a leg injury somehow related to the SVO. "I was at the front for New Year's, delivering equipment and gifts to the guys. I can't go into all the details, but I had to have leg surgery," сказал he.  

In the first half of 2024, the official joined the Akhmat battalion, went to the SVO and back ahead of schedule, in less than six months. In an interview with local journalists, he stated that "I followed the orders of my commanders, fired, and didn't count the dead."At the same time, he actively maintained his Telegram channel. After just a month of service, Mirkhaidarov received a medal "For military merit" by decree of the "head of the Luhansk People's Republic".
