A memorial to the members of the "SVO" will be opened on the site of a former German prisoner-of-war concentration camp in Pskov.

On the territory of the concentration camp Stalag 372 will house the Heroes of Russia Park. This сообщил Governor Mikhail Vedernikov of the Pskov region at a meeting with the wives and widows of military personnel.

"We agreed that it wouldn't be very convenient for families in the Kresty neighborhood. We plan to set it up on the grounds of the former German prisoner-of-war camp, Stalag 372. Especially since the Ministry of Defense is transferring these territories to us.", - he said.

Vedernikov also reported that the design for a monument for a military burial site in the village of Bely Mokh is nearly complete. The installation site is currently being finalized. "It makes sense for the monument to be visible from the highway, so that people driving by can stop and pay their respects to our heroes.", the governor said.

The first memorial to fallen members of the SVO in the Pskov region have opened in September 2024 of the year.

Stalag 372 was one of the largest German prisoner-of-war concentration camps in the northwest of the country. According to the Extraordinary State Commission investigating war crimes, more than 75 people died there.

The camp area was in 2021 recognized an object of cultural heritage.
