A diver encountered a giant octopus in Primorye.

These octopuses are considered among the most intelligent invertebrates. They can open jars and play with toys. They can change their color to match their surroundings. They can also express emotions by changing color. For example, to show aggression, an octopus becomes dark in color. And if it surrenders in battle, it becomes lighter. 

Adult octopus weighs Up to 25 kg, and its eight tentacles have about 2000 suckers. They are capable of not only taste but also smell. 

It lives alone for only 3-5 years. Octopuses meet only for mating. After the eggs are laid, the female guards them. When the little octopuses hatch, she dies. 

Encountering this octopus in the Sea of ​​Japan has become increasingly difficult in recent years. Poaching is rampant and unrestrained. The animals are particularly vulnerable when they venture into shallow waters during their pre-spawning migration.
