More money for "heroes" from regional pockets: the State Duma has proposed introducing uniform benefits for "SVO" participants across the country.

The bill today will contribute the A Just Russia - For Truth faction, headed by Sergei Mironov.

Deputies are concerned that the "heroes" receive budgetary benefits unevenly, with benefits varying significantly across regions, depending on their financial capabilities. Therefore, they propose establishing "uniform support measures," essentially requiring regional authorities to find funds for a specific set of benefits. They based this on "best regional practices" and "included the broadest possible range of benefits in the standard," Mironov explained.

The following is offered: exemption from transport tax, provision of a land plot, partial compensation of housing and utility costs, assistance with employment, legal and psychological support, and for children – priority enrollment in kindergartens near their home, free hot meals, sports clubs, and discounted vouchers to camps.

According to Mironov, he has been receiving complaints for three years now that SVO participants “fight the same way, but the benefits are different in each region.”
