The Rostselmash plant is switching to a four-day work week. A six-month supply of tractors and combines has accumulated there.
About it сообщил co-owner of the enterprise Konstantin BabkinThis operating mode may be extended in the future.
According to Babkin, the plant is currently producing approximately three times fewer combines and tractors than a year ago. He cites the lack of expected government support, declining demand for equipment, grain export duties, high loan interest rates, and rising raw material prices as reasons.
At the same time, in one of the interviews the entrepreneur said, that “the previous year, which we take as a starting point, turned out to be the worst in sales in the last 10 years” and, therefore, “the situation is even more dire than it might seem at first glance,” and “agriculture in Russia today is in a stupor.”
According to Babkin, this state of affairs is temporary, since “there are no objective preconditions for such a decline in agriculture: there are no weather cataclysms, and the global market needs food.”
On his Telegram channel, Babkin wrotethat the plant has “almost half a year’s supply of tractors and combines” unsold.
Rostselmash is one of Russia's largest developers and manufacturers of agricultural machinery. Located in Rostov-on-Don.
