Russian Post has launched stamps featuring Innokenty Smoktunovsky.

The stamp was created in honor of the native's 100th anniversary Tomsk areaIt depicts a portrait. Smoktunovsky against the backdrop of a theatre curtain and a film strip, and the years of life are indicated next to it.

In addition to the stamp, Russian Post issued first day covers and produced special cancellation stamps for Moscow, St. Petersburg и Tomsk. 

The stamp's ceremonial cancellation took place on March 28, the People's Artist of the USSR's birthday, in Tomsk. A special commemorative postmark was placed on the stamp, indicating the date and location of the event.

The stamp dedicated to Innokenty Smoktunovsky has a circulation of 63 copies. Its face value is 60 rubles.

Smoktunovsky was born in the village Tatyanovka Tomsk province (now - Shegarsky District of Tomsk Oblast). He was "the first intellectual actor of Soviet cinema" and a theater actor whose performances drew audiences from all over the Union.
