Billions in the mud. A Moscow blogger found voluminous bundles of cash in the Vladimir swamps.
Blogger Lina Reznik To find this "treasure," she drove for miles, then walked for about three kilometers through impassable mud, dodging ticks and snakes. She achieved her goal—she found a pile of money. True, you can't buy anything with it now.
These are Soviet banknotes that were taken out of circulation after the collapse of the USSR. The old banknotes were supposed to be disposed of, but they weren't burned because they contained many hazardous substances. The money was buried in former missile silos near the village of Zhelezovo. Yuryev-Polsky district.
"I was surprised that the bags the money was kept in had rotted, but the bills themselves were still hanging on! Aside from the fantastic appearance of the bills scattered on the ground, the find has no value. It's just a pile of colorful papers."- said Olga, "treasure hunter".
Lina is not the first to discover the "treasure trove." A blogger previously wrote about the abandoned mine filled with money. Sergey Volkov:
"Hidden away in a remote wilderness lies a place whose scale is unparalleled. Never before or since have I seen such a vast accumulation of money. Getting there requires wading through a river and a tick-infested field, and the entire journey on foot is long and grueling."
