The Prosecutor General's Office is demanding that the largest PVC production plant be returned to state ownership.

The polyvinyl chloride production plant is located in the Irkutsk city of Sayansk and is family-owned. Viktor Kruglov, who was elected as a member of the regional parliament several times. The assets of the Sayanskkhimplast company, which are being sought for transfer to the state, are valued at 79 billion rubles. The plant, which operated as a state-owned enterprise since 1969, was transferred to Kruglov in the late 90s, after he had already held a management position there for almost 10 years.

Today the company employs six and a half thousand people.

It is noteworthy that less than a month ago was published Vladimir Putin's decree awarding Kruglov the Order of Honor "for his labor achievements and many years of conscientious work."

The decree allowing the transfer of private enterprises to state ownership was signed by Putin after the outbreak of the war with Ukraine. Initially, the focus was on "assets from unfriendly countries" and participation in state defense procurement. Over the course of just over two years, Russia has nationalized dozens of enterprises, including machine tool and metallurgical plants, and producers of canned meat, dairy products, wine, and beer.

Last month the court handed the largest mining and metallurgical complex, which is located in Primorsky Krai: Lead and zinc ores are mined there, which are necessary for the production of ammunition and a wide range of military equipment.
