The search for a miner missing after an emergency at the Sheregeshskaya mine in the Kemerovo region continues.

The day before, a clay leak of approximately 500 cubic meters occurred there. As the mine's press service reported, there were 234 person — Everyone managed to evacuate except one respirator operator. His whereabouts are still unknown.

Rostekhnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision) has temporarily banned mining operations at the Sheregeshskaya site. The prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case for "violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous industrial facilities."

The Sheregeshskaya mine is owned by Evraz ZSMK JSC. While rescuers search underground for the missing worker, the company's press service reports that it has sent a rescue team in 2024. 3,6 billion for the safety of its employees.
