Street artists painted over their graffiti to bring back memories for a sick woman.

Yekaterinburg artists Danila "Mynamestreets" and "Any" painted graffiti on an abandoned fire tower on Konny Peninsula. Afterward, a woman named Asya contacted them and asked them to remove the work.

The reason wasn't that the graffiti was bad. Her 95-year-old grandmother lives across the street from the tower, which holds memories and history for her. The elderly woman suffers from dementia, and since the graffiti appeared, she's lost the ability to recognize the familiar landscape: every time she looked out the window, she'd be frightened and confused.

"Unfortunately, she's constantly stressed by the loss of something dear to her, not just graffiti... It's important to me to restore the tower to its former glory, at least while my grandmother is alive. I truly can't leave the painting on the tower as long as it causes my grandmother pain," the girl wrote. 

The artists supported Asya and painted over her work themselves, taking only commemorative photos. 

“They gave me creativity when they wanted it, and they took it back when they wanted it back,” wrote on his Mynamestreets channel.
