A woman was injured in a gas explosion in a high-rise building in Stavropol.

The victim is being taken to the hospital, the city's mayor said. Ivan UlyanchenkoEmergency services are working at the scene; the house has been disconnected from utilities.

"I woke up to a loud bang in our courtyard. I ran sleepily to the windows. At that moment, the apartment exploded, and huge pieces of glass and debris flew down from the windows," an eyewitness reported.

According to local media, cars parked in the yard were damaged, and a neighboring house was hit. Roof debris lay on the ground, and the street smelled of gas.
