The little "gift" lion cub was handed over to specialists—now he is being taught to eat meat, not cat food.

Residents spotted a lion cub wandering around a Moscow industrial zone. Rosprirodnadzor officers arrived and spoke with the owner. The man explained that he had received the animal as a gift and voluntarily agreed to donate it to a place where the cub could be provided with adequate conditions for growth and development.

Malysha agreed to take over the Moscow region lion park "Pride Land", where many wild animals have already been nursed.

In his new home, it turned out that the lion cub flatly refused to eat meat, as he was fed cat pate from a bottle.

"He refuses to accept or agree to eat meat, he spits... We spent the whole night trying to persuade him to start eating the food he's supposed to, and as you can see, we finally succeeded. We'll be getting him used to the right food," explained Pride Land. Feeding lion cubs the wrong food is extremely dangerous and can lead to serious health problems, underdevelopment, and even death.

The lion cub was examined to understand the condition of his body and to develop a plan for further action.

"We won't give him up to anyone. He's with us, he's part of our soul, our big family... He was lucky to get to the Park, and our Park is definitely the best place for him ❤️ where he'll live his best lion life 🦁 And now the most important thing is to recover, learn to eat the right food, and get stronger," the staff said.
