A crow missed its chicks: St. Petersburg climbers rescued chicks abandoned on a skyscraper.

Climbers discovered a nest containing baby ravens on the rails of the façade maintenance system of the 87-story Lakhta Center. The chicks were abandoned on the eleventh floor.

"Leaving the nest on the façade was impossible for both technical reasons and for the safety of the birds themselves," the Lakhta Center team writes. "A rescue operation was necessary, as everyone knows children are not allowed to play on the tracks."

The evacuated crow chicks were transferred to the Sirin Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, where they will be raised for eventual release into the wild.

"And what about the parents? They'll arrive, and the kids won't be there," "I feel so sorry for the mother that I'll cry—she'll arrive, and they won't be there. She'll be so hysterical," "Poor mommy," — concerned Russians comment.

Nature has gifted crows with a phenomenal memory—especially when it comes to spatial orientation. These birds are also very responsible parents. If crow chicks are left alone for a long time, it's possible that something has happened to their parents. Therefore, it's vital to help them.
