Summer 2023 years Alexander Belyakov Park In the Moskovsky District, trees began to be cut down for "improvement." A group of activists filed a lawsuit, reached the Cassation Court in Moscow, and won.

In September, residents filed a lawsuit in the Sovietsky District Court of Ryazan but lost, then lost in the Ryazan Regional Court. The Moscow Court of Cassation found multiple violations and remanded the case to the lower court, the Sovietsky District Court, which sided with the plaintiffs on June 4.
— There was a sensation, commented "Regional Aspect" is one of the organizers of this event for the protection of the park. Natalia Minaeva. - It's impossible to win a case like this in the Ryazan courts, but we made it all the way to Moscow. True, they had already done their dirty work: they cut down a lot of trees. However, the trial was suspended for the time being, and the birds returned to our park.
The deforestation was carried out under the guise of improvements. Residents appreciated the first phase: paths were laid, benches were installed, and lighting was added. The second phase was planned to include three recreation areas. When residents saw the cost of these areas, they were outraged.

Minaeva and other activists predict that the Ryazan administration will challenge the court's decision, which has not yet entered into force. The activists suspect that the park will ultimately be developed into apartment buildings.
Activists recommended to the head of the city To Vitaly Artemov to give the park a status that prohibits wholesale felling of trees and further development.
This isn't the first time residents of the neighborhood have saved their town from the encroachments of commercial developers. The developer SK-ATRIUM wanted to build two 10-story buildings in the green zone. The activists went to court and won.
