A mortar with Baba Yaga, a hut on chicken legs, poisonous fly agarics and unknown little animals - all this magic is embroidered with beads Tatiana Nikolaeva from Vladimir. She turns embroideries into brooches.
Tatyana worked as the manager of a large retail company, but even then she was already involved in handicrafts. One day, her husband gave her a bullfinch brooch—simply beads sewn onto oilcloth—but the piece captured her heart. Soon, she learned to make similar brooches, and even better ones, using a variety of natural materials.
"I started sewing back when I was working at my last job. I had patterns lying next to my reports. I didn't understand that I had to drop everything and immerse myself in creativity. Back then, I'd start sewing in the evening and later suddenly realize it was already five in the morning. The main thing is to keep your eyes lit up! And it's also important not to give up at the first mistake."- says Nikolaeva.
Since then, she's been creating with a slight break—her son was born, demanding attention. Now he suggests themes for new works. It was he who suggested making a hut. Mom was hesitant at first, but when she did it, it turned out great!
The craftswoman is inspired by old children's fairy tales. The Sirin bird, the beautiful maiden's kokoshnik, and the chest of jewels—all are popular and complement both everyday wear and formal occasions. However, the craftswoman disagrees with the notion that brooches are "for old ladies." A little originality, and the brooch will look quite modern.
To confirm her words, even Nikolaeva's husband asked for a brooch for himself. It's a special "men's" brooch—a sword-kladenets.
