Galina и Eduard Koshevets Bought in the village of Isakovo A hut built in 1820 was given a second life. Now the owners split their time between the two houses, and the hut has become a museum.
"Residents of the surrounding villages brought cherished little items. Everyone has them, usually tucked away on distant shelves: they're not suitable for a modern interior, but in our house they found a place. Bed valances, embroidered pillowcases, napkins, curtains, woven rugs."- says about Galina's transformed house.
Local history museums exist in almost every regional center, but there aren't many original museums where you can touch ancient objects and sit on metal beds.
Galina and Eduard They became the first "non-family" owners of the house—previously, several generations of the same family had lived there. The new owners removed the modern linoleum and plastic elements, replacing them with antique items. They had collected them "from all over the place."
According to the owners, "the house began to dictate its own terms," so they had to refurbish it in the style of the early 20th century: embroidered tablecloths and curtains, carved jewelry boxes, wall hangings with deer and swans, even a large wooden chest. And crystal in the sideboard—how could it be without it? And in the center of the hut is a genuine Russian stove, heated with wood. The owners claim it's incomparable with central heating: the stove is much better.
The couple turned the house not just into a museum, but into a place for friendly and tourist gatherings.Limpoponchiki", during which guests sample donuts and lemonade. The hosts are constantly inundated with tourists. Perhaps the secret to the renovated house's charm is that Eduard spent his childhood in Isakovo, and he would bike to this house to pick mushrooms.
