The former governor of the Tambov region has been detained.

Maxim Egorov suspected of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. 

According to TASS, Egorov was found at several addresses in Moscow and Tambov searches are being conducted.

Egorov headed the region from October 4, 2021 to November 4, 2024. He was replaced as governor by the former mayor. Krasnodar and a participant in the war in Ukraine Evgeny Pervyshov.
