The head of one of the districts of the Rostov region has been detained.

Chapter Millerovsky district Oleg Kovalenko accused of abuse of office, Tyutina reports.

According to investigators, Kovalenko abused his authority by concluding a contract with Donteploenergo for the operation of gas boiler houses in district schools without concession procedures. Damages are estimated at 25 million rubles.

Kovalenko's career developed within the Ust-Donetsk District Administration. He became Deputy Head of the Administration for Investment, Construction, and Housing and Utilities in 2013. From 2014, he held a similar position, but this time focusing on municipal development, and from 2018, he became First Deputy Head of the Ust-Donetsk District Administration. Oleg Kovalenko has been Head of the Millerovsky District since 2022.
