Yukaghirs living in Yakutia, have asked The head of the region, Aisen Nikolaev, will perpetuate the memory of the creator of the Yukaghir written language, researcher of the Yukaghirs, and the first linguist, Gavril Kurilov-Ulur Ado, and will allocate space and a small staff for the Researcher's Foundation.

Gavril Kurilov worked at the Institute of Language, Literature, and History of the Yakut branch of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences from 1968. Under his leadership, ethnic Yukaghir settlements emerged in Yakutia and a Council of Elders was established. Kurilov published 30 poetry collections in the Yukaghir language. He died in November 2024. 
There are now only four speakers of the Yukaghir language left in Yakutia, рассказал Vyacheslav Shadrin, Chairman of the Council of Elders, addressed the "Regional Aspect" issue. He noted that in addition to the already established system of national schools and support for the publication of books and literature in the Yukaghir language, the region is developing new technologies to preserve the language.

"We're working on creating a mobile app to make the language available online. And I dream of the day when, sooner or later, we won't need to dub, but will simply be able to install a program on our phone or computer that automatically translates any text into Yukaghir. Maybe we'll even be able to watch movies in our language," says Shadrina.
