Internet problems have become a convenient explanation for any outages - for example, why on Wednesday in Novorossiysk People had no water.

"Due to the threat of a drone attack, a cellular network outage occurred, resulting in equipment malfunction. As a result, morning water service was reduced," the local water utility warned residents.

The Novorossiysk residents did not hide their surprise: "I read it several times to understand the logic of this message. My eyes are popping out of my head," "This is the 21st century! Water supply depends on the internet," "What kind of connection is this anyway? And when will there be 24/7 water? We want to live like normal people."

Local residents believe the cell phone outage is another hoax by Vodokanal. In the summer, the lack of water was attributed to a "large influx of vacationers." 

"Not infrastructure development, but a complete degradation of leadership" - write the locals.

"Times are changing, technologies are changing," "Vodokanal" explained, stating in a new post that pumping stations and wells are scattered throughout the city and beyond, and that cellular communications are needed to manage all of this remotely from a single control center.

By the way, today the reason for the outages is already new: “critically low flow rate of the local water source.”
