A controversial sculpture in Ryazan has been stolen: the artist plans to file a lawsuit.

A sculpture was unveiled in Ryazan. According to authorities, it depicts a Nakhimov sailor dancing with a girl. However, Ryazan residents were not pleased with the new art piece: the girl was half-dressed, and both dancers had strange expressions. 

Now it turns out that the sketch for the sculpture was actually stolen, as the author revealed. Evgeny Shevchenko. 

"Unscrupulous people took my sketch without my consent and gave it to other contractors. Through friends, they asked me to make a sketch and estimate the cost. Then they disappeared. They later reappeared with an offer to reduce the cost, which I refused. And now, today, I'm receiving from my friends a photo of the finished piece, along with a photo of my sketch with my name on it," сказал Shevchenko. 

The sculptor plans to go to court and hold the unscrupulous performers accountable. 

Other sculptors expressed negative opinions about the new art object. said Vasily Gorbunov, creative works should not be included in contracts at all, because the city's arts council is not involved in the public procurement process and cannot influence what happens.
