The market that was successfully defended four years ago will be sold in Yaroslavl

Municipal Central Market are going to sell Yaroslavl authorities for 150 million rublesThere was already an attempt to sell it in 2021, but council members and city residents opposed it.

The market has been operating on this site since 1980; its predecessor was the Mytny Market, which arose in the early 19th century.

Residents suspected that the site was going to be built up with residential buildings.

"They'll probably build high-rises; there aren't enough of them in the center." "It would be nice to be able to see Moscow at least from the top floor. Kostroma, Rybinsk, Danilov, Rostov, and Tutayev, of course."- commented local residents. 

In recent years, every suitable (and even unsuitable) plot of land in the regions has been targeted for development. Residents' opinions are ignored.

Previously intended for high-rise development sold markets in the Aksai district Rostov — they were given over to integrated territorial development (ITD). In Khabarovsk for development sold out The Green Garden market, where gardeners bought seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, and other gardening supplies. In Perm once again started talking The Central Market is being sold. The owner has repeatedly turned down persistent developers, but all the areas around the market are already built up with high-rises. In Ryazan, markets in two neighborhoods have disappeared due to high-rises. In the lower part of the Central Market construction has begun apartment buildings - without any public discussion. Despite the obvious construction work, the mayor's office thrown out Ryazan residents: “There is no construction going on, no building permit has been issued.”
