Yakutia is struggling to build the Lena Bridge: its cost has risen to 175 billion, but the region has only received 1,3 billion. 

About it said Olga, State Duma deputy and former mayor Yakutsk Sardana AvksentievaAccording to her, 65 billion rubles were supposed to be allocated from the federal budget for the bridge's construction, but only 1,3 billion were received. 

However, Yakutia is unable to cover its share. The republic's budget promised to provide 9,6 billion rubles this year, but only 4,8 billion were found. 

"A private investor who is supposed to invest 82,5 billion rubles can't clearly explain where he'll get that kind of money. This isn't planning; it's a gamble." — writes Avksentyeva. 

Currently, construction is supported by loans, but they are being issued with difficulty, and due to problems with financing, work is being stopped. 

Another problem is that the land allocated for the construction of the Lena Bridge was once cheap because it was farmland. Officials rezoned the land for residential use, which increased the price—and now the state can buy the plots at a higher price. According to the deputy, it's a "scam." 

She also notes that while the budget is being poured into bridge construction, social services are in decline—for example, large families are experiencing massive delays in receiving social benefits. 

The Lena Bridge is a very important object for Yakutia. It should connect the eastern and western parts of Yakutia, as well as federal highways. Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev promised eat a tie if the bridge is not built by the end of 2025.
