300 signatures on 19 sheets already filed to the reception office of the head of the region Andrey Turchak. People Altai They demand an end to the persecution of Aruna Arna, who “has won the trust and love of the people.”

"We believe that the inclusion of Aruna Arna on the list of terrorists and extremists is an attempt to suppress a courageous human rights activist and, at the same time, weaken the people's movement in Altai, which advocates for the preservation of their lands," is noted in the appeal.

Aruna Arna is a supporter Svetlana Lada-Rus, the leader of the Volya party, which is banned in Russia. For several years, the activist fought against the construction of resorts in protected areas of Altai, and this summer participated in protests against the reform of local government and the liquidation of village councils. 

In August, a criminal case was opened against her for “calls to terrorism” and have included on the list of terrorists and extremists. 

At the end of last week, Arun Arna sent in a pretrial detention center. This weekend, pickets in her defense were held on Altayof the Tyumen и Novosibirsk.
