A new terrorism case has been opened against Mikhail Khodorkovsky, implicating more than 20 people.

Twenty-two members of the "Anti-War Committee of Russia," including "unidentified participants," have been charged with the violent seizure of power and organizing a terrorist group, the FSB press service reported. 

In particular, the former Prime Minister of Russia became the defendants Mikhail Kasyanov, chess player Garry Kasparov, politician Leonid Gozman, actor Arthur Smolyaninov, gallery owner Marat Gelman, oppositionist Vladimir Kara-Murza, political scientist Ekaterina Shulmanbusinessman Evgeny Chichvarkin, businessman Boris Zimin, journalist Victor Shenderovich, Editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta Evropa Kirill Martynov etc.

Security officials believe that Khodorkovsky and other members of the committee are financing "Ukrainian paramilitary nationalist units, and also conduct recruiting activities to recruit individuals into these formations for their subsequent use in implementing the plan to seize power in the Russian Federation by force."

Simultaneously, a case has been opened against Mikhail Khodorkovsky under the article on public calls for terrorist activity. The FSB cites the text of the Berlin Declaration adopted on April 30, 2023. The founding document of the "Anti-War Committee" declares "the need to liquidate the current Russian government."

The creation of a platform of Russian democratic forces in PACE also served as the pretext for persecution. According to Russian security officials, it is positioned as a "constituent assembly for a transitional period and an alternative to the Russian government."

None of the members of the Anti-War Committee have expressed a desire to leave it in the face of the initiation of cases against the organization for terrorism and the seizure of power, said its member, an activist. Anastasia Shevchenko.
